VMWare announced today that the Fusion beta program is now live.
The new VMware desktop product for the Mac, codenamed Fusion, allows Intel-based Macs to run x86 operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, NetWare and Solaris, in virtual machines at the same time as Mac OS X. It is built on VMware’s rock-solid and advanced desktop virtualization platform that is used by over four million users today.
If you sign up for the beta program earlier you can access to donwload the Fusion beta and other information regarding the release here. Otherwise you can will need to sign up first.
I am eager to test it and see if it can match Parallels Desktop both on speed and stability.

Update: I finally got to download the installer after signing up again. Installation is a breeze and my first impressions are very good. The UI is a lot better than Parallels! Take a look on the screenshots I took during the installation.

Nice icons in the menu bar — but it can’t beat Parallel’s Coherence Mode.
