Webpop Webinar – Episode One

If you are a visual web designer with HTML and CSS skills but having nightmares about using CMS's like WordPress or Drupal to make your sites dynamic, I invite you to tune into our channel on Thursday at 10 AM PST / 7 PM CET where we'll demonstrate how to turn a static mockup into a dynamic website that a client can keep up to date.

This is a great chance to learn more about Webpop – the Cloud CMS, meet the team behind it and ask all your questions, so make a mark in your calendar, come by and say hi! See you all on Thursday…

Comments via Twitter

Twitter has becoming my primary information update stream so I thought that comments or discussions on my posts here would be served via Twitter. Making it more social and consolidated.

Webpop makes it so easy to implement such comment system. Firstly, add this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js"></script>

Now you are ready to customize the code from Twitter so it will grab the permalink of the article together with your Twitter username:

Quick tip: New to Webpop? No worries! The amazing Tag Auto-Completion will help you pull the necessary content tag

  1. Your Twitter username
  2. Base URL of your site
  3. Insert the webpop tag to grab the slug of the post <pop:permalink />

Here is my code:

<li id="comment-twitter">Comment <a href="http://twitter.com/?status=@pixeleden http://pixeleden.com<pop:permalink />">via Twitter</a></li>

And this is how it will look like:

With Webpop integrating social bits to your website is so darn simple yet you have full control over your code.

First with Webpop

To celebrate Pixeleden's new home – Webpop, the Cloud CMS, I am sharing to you one of my favorite work from the past.

"Sepia Flowers" – Watercolor on laid paper, c. 1994

Sepia Flowers

At last, working with website is as freely as painting. You have full command of the medium and not the other way around. Webpop works to take on what you have and not dictates how you should have it.

These are exciting times for the web. As a web designer I am happy that Webpop is here to realize the designs I've always thought as great but too complex for me before to execute. I feel good again to be a web designer with full creative freedom – free at last from my CMS nightmares!

If you are a designer who loves to handcraft your design and can confidently turn it exactly as it is as static webpages, you'll gonna love Webpop as much as I do. Give it a spin today!
